Walks with Ozzy

 April 19th

It was cloudy and the wind as usual was blowing in Flamborough as I set off for my morning walk with Ozzy. I so wanted the sun to shine and to feel its warmth on my back but its no good moaning our very active Springer needed a walk and I know health wise it is also good for me. So off we set up the hill towards Danes Dyke. Ozzy is always excited to set off on a walk so as he was pulling a bit I set off at a brisk pace and soon felt warm.

As usual as soon as we had passed the small pond I let Ozzy off the lead and off he ran so glad to be free and able to sniff everywhere to his hearts content. We took the path by the side of the car park and for a change went down the hill into the Dyke, it was funny to see Ozzy looking at me quizzically as we hadn't been that way before. It was quiet amongst the trees and all I could hear was the birds singing. Strangely enough we never saw anybody while walking through the trees or when we came down onto the beach area.

While walking back up to the car park I suddenly saw some deer crossing the path. Luckily Ozzy didn't spot them and I was able to put his lead on quickly. We stood watching as the three deer walked across the path before they blended back into the trees. Ozzy really does seem to be growing into quite an obedient dog now and comes to me when I call him and sits quietly when I tell him to.

I was surprised to see quite a few cars in the car park then and a number of people, they must have been setting off on a walk so I was lucky to have the place to myself on our walk.
